Styling Your Sanctuary: The Coastal Chic Living Room
Your home should be your ultimate soft landing at the end of a busy day. While I love the rich, historic energy of Saratoga in the summer, my heart always leans toward a "coastal Florida chic" aesthetic when it comes to everyday interior styling.
Creating a beautiful space doesn't require a complete renovation. Often, it just requires a few intentional updates. Here are my favorite ways to refresh a room:
1. Curated Coffee Table Books A coffee table without books feels like a wardrobe without jewelry—incomplete. I love stacking oversized, linen-bound books focused on travel, fashion, and architecture. They add instant texture, height, and serve as fantastic conversation starters when guests arrive.
2. Bringing the Outdoors In I rely heavily on natural elements to make a room feel alive. Whether it's an oversized ceramic bowl filled with fresh lemons on the kitchen island, or an arrangement of dramatic palm leaves in a glass vase, incorporating nature instantly breathes fresh life into a neutral palette.
3. Intentional Lighting Overhead lighting is the enemy of a cozy, chic space! I always opt for warm lamps, sconces, and, of course, candles. Having a signature scent for your home is just as important as having a signature perfume.
As I always say: If I own it, love it, gift it, or can’t stop talking about it—it belongs here. And that philosophy starts right in my own living room.
